Birds words

Fulmars - Farne Islands and Bempton

.

Stiff winged bird,
with dodo beak,
and Springfield shadow eye.

Cuts above the gulls,
passing, eyeing man foe,
close to high nesting cliffs.

Albatross forehead,
reminiscent flying style,
strong winds negotiated.

Wings mottled grey,
warmer, cooler, lighter, darker
unique to each.

Beligerent spirits,
survival instincts,
respect.

For the unwary,
approaching nesting bird,
an oily repost, not easily forgotten.

“Foul bird” past name derived,

.....not to me,

.....well not so far at least.
