Birds words

Bee-eater - Southern Spain - on the wing

.

Dashing and direct flight,
more usually denies the camera,
kept at a distance.

Accomplished fliers,
at the brink of a stall
into the wind.

On a barren rain soaked day,
a surprise break in the weather,
the wind less blustery.

Down the hill into the wind
the stall used as a platform,
to drop and swoop to feed.

Shocked alive from blank, resigned lunch,
readied and light assessed,
in short order.

Chance first fifth of a second moment,
before the second, gone,
the jewel bird caught centre frame.
